Have you noticed that the Fleas seem to be worse this year?

Many clients have told us that they didn't think that Frontline Plus® was working for fleas this year.

The actual truth is that fleas are still as susceptible to Frontline as when it first was introduced. The environmental conditions in our region of the county have been the most optimal for flea reproduction and the encroachment of wild habitat by urban development have driven wildlife into our backyards. Fleas love wildlife as well as pets. Those cute deer, rabbits, raccoons, squirrels have brought their "hitchhikers" with them to infest the pets and homes of our area. This "Bio-mass" of flea eggs, larvae and cacoons are the source of the seemingly resistant "Super Flea". What we are seeing is the constant emergence of new fleas. Frontline Plus® is killing the fleas on the pets but new fleas, either from the house or carried in from outside on the pet or on our pant legs and socks, is replacing them. Frontline kills them but it takes about 24 hours. We humans of the "New Millenium" are too impatient to wait that long. Therefore the perceived notion that it isn't working prevails.

Well friends, we have a new weapon in our arsenal to deal with that pesky problem. It is called VECTRA 3D for dogs and puppies over 7 weeks of age.

The ingredients in Vectra 3D have a 3 point approach:

Dinotefuran- Kills fleas for 30 days

Pyriproxyfen- Insect Growth Regulator ("birth control" for the flea)

Permethrin- Insect repellent for Fleas,Ticks, Biting insects.

Lasting Protection

Water-resistant (limit to 2 baths per month) can be applied as soon as skin is dry.
One month duration from a single application
Can be used on puppies as young as 7 weeks of age

We have had testimonial reports of effectiveness from members of our staff who have used it successfully.

Keep in mind that it may take 2 to 4 months to clear a heavy infestation; That all pets need to be treated at the same time; Environmental control needs to be performed at the same time as the treatment on the pets; We don not use this product on Cats; Permethrin is toxic to them; therefore we are still recommending Frontline for cats.
